Bearfootin’ continues in downtown until Oct. 19
Head to Downtown Hendersonville for Bearfootin’ Public Art Walk through October 19.
Twenty bears, designed by various artists, are on display through October 19 along Main Street between Allen and Fifth avenues. People are encouraged to walk along the five-block display to take their picture with their favorite decorated bear. On the 19th, an auction is scheduled at the Historic Courthouse on Main Street at 5 p.m., where the bears will search for a permanent home. In 2018, the bears raised more than $47,200 for local charities.
Some of this year’s bears have playful names like Scarecrow Bear, Mardi Bear and Crazy Cat Lady. Proceeds from the auction of the bears will benefit such charities as Pardee Hospital Foundation, Blue Ridge Literacy Council, United Way f Henderson County and Four Seasons Hospice Foundation.
The reveal of the 2020 bears for Bearfootin’ Public Art Walk will be May 8.
