May 9 is the Bear Reveal!
Historic Downtown Hendersonville presents the 18th annual Bearfootin’ Art Walk & Auction. Bears will be created in a whimsical artistic fashion and will decorate the downtown area. The bears provide an interesting addition to the Main Street and can be viewed while visiting the many the merchants and eateries of downtown. The bears’ line watch from corners, under trees, and in front of stores as you walk. Hopefully, you will catch a glimpse of the perfect bear you would like to take home. The bears will be auctioned on October 19th at 5:00 pm. Live music will get those in attendance livened up starting at 3:00 pm.
The Historic Downtown Hendersonville organization began the project as a way to raise funds for the preservation and restoration of downtown Hendersonville and to help a variety of charitable organizations. Each year sponsors decorate bears in interesting colors and designs for display for auction. The funds raised from the auction are divided between the Historic Downtown Hendersonville and the charitable organization of the sponsor’s choice. The auction raised $57,400 in 2019.
