    Folkmoot, Blue Ridge Books and the Haywood County Public Library present the Southern Storytellers Supper Series, bringing southern culture and regional authors and musicians together for educational evenings of discussion, food and fun. Supper is included. Tickets cost $20 or $10 for students.

    On September 26th, join New York Times bestselling author David Joy, who talks about how the traditional aspects of mountain culture (such as hunting, fishing, nature and his dog) have found their way into David’s writing and life.

    On October 17th, join Appalachian Culture and Music specialists William Ritter and Sarah Ogletree, who will sing old love songs, new love songs and traditional mountain music.They both have a passion for harmony singing and good old-fashioned tunes.

    On November 21st, Courtney Lix, author of “No Place for the Weary Kind: Women of the Smokies,” joins the Southern Storytelling Series. Hear her talk about the women who possessed the tenacity and perseverance to survive in the remote Smokies of days past.  For more information
