The gem mine on Elijah Mountain is Western North Carolina’s go-to for a day of mining and family fun. Your inner prospector will come alive as you mine for gems and gold as the settlers of the Blue Ridge Mountains did and continue to do. You may find precious and semi-precious gems such as rubies, emeralds, garnets, sapphires, quartz and other types of stone. You may even find a fossil! There are outdoor and covered flumes available making mining enjoyable and fun.
The staff at the mine will help you identify your finds after you are done mining. There are stone cutting and jewelry making available to turn your finds into a lasting treasure or gift. There is a fossil and gem store on site.
